Advanced, Minimally Invasive
Cavity Care in Scottsdale

Untitled design (1).png

At Signature Dentistry & Dental Implants in Scottsdale, we believe dentistry should be proactive, gentle, and designed to preserve as much natural tooth structure as possible.

That’s why we offer Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) and the newest generation of enamel-repair technology, Curodont™, to stop and reverse early tooth decay... without drilling, shots, or discomfort.

This is modern dentistry focused on prevention, preservation, and patient comfort.

Introducing Curodont™ - Remineralization Without Staining

Curodont™ is an exciting advancement in early cavity treatment.

Unlike SDF, Curodont™ works by stimulating natural enamel regeneration using biomimetic technology. It penetrates microscopic enamel lesions and helps rebuild tooth structure from within... without drilling and without dark staining.

Curodont™ may be recommended for:

  • Early-stage cavities (before deeper breakdown)

  • Patients concerned about aesthetics

  • Cosmetic zones (front teeth)

  • Preventive treatment in high-risk patients

  • Individuals who want the most advanced non-invasive option available

While SDF remains highly effective for stopping active decay, Curodont™ represents the next step in minimally invasive dentistry and may eventually replace SDF in many early cases.

Advanced Care for Seniors & Complex Cases

As we age, oral health challenges change.

Many seniors experience:

  • Receding gums

  • Root surface decay

  • Dry mouth from medications

  • Increased sensitivity

  • Medical conditions that complicate traditional procedures

Our approach prioritizes comfort, safety, and preservation.

Using SDF and Curodont™, we can:

  • Halt decay early

  • Reduce the need for anesthesia

  • Minimize stress and chair time

  • Protect medically vulnerable patients

  • Prevent small problems from becoming major procedures

This philosophy aligns with our commitment to whole-health dentistry... especially for patients who value conservative, thoughtful care.

Which Treatment Is Right for You?

Every case is different.

During your visit, Dr. Howard Sommers will evaluate:

  • The depth and location of decay

  • Your overall oral health

  • Your medical history

  • Your cosmetic goals

  • Your long-term treatment plan

In some situations, SDF is the best immediate solution.
In others, Curodont™ may offer a more aesthetic and regenerative option.

We’ll explain your options clearly and help you choose the approach that fits your health, comfort, and priorities.

A Note About Staining

One known effect of SDF is that it may darken the decayed portion of the tooth as the bacteria are neutralized. Healthy enamel is not affected.

For many patients... particularly seniors or those prioritizing comfort over cosmetics... this tradeoff is minor compared to the benefit of stopping decay without invasive treatment.

However, dentistry continues to evolve.

Modern Dentistry. Minimal Intervention. Maximum Preservation.

At Signature Dentistry in North Scottsdale, our goal is simple:

Preserve natural teeth whenever possible.
Intervene early.
Keep treatment gentle.

If you’re looking for advanced cavity care without drilling or discomfort, we’d be happy to help.
